Once thought to not apply to pediatric patients, it is now recognized that delirium is highly prevalent and often overlooked. Validated tools exist for screening and diagnosing delirium. It is still challenging to implement strategies for preventing and managing delirium. This session will review methods for screening and identifying delirium and will further delineate both nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic prevention and management strategies.
