Research and clinical endeavors include emerging infectious diseases, especially Ebola and other Sub-tropical and tropical diseases and in relation to climate change. I was present during the Ebola epidemic 2014-2015 in Kenema, Sierra Leone with WHO. Additional research endeavors have involved developing both hardware and software technologies to evaluate cardiac ultrasound. Efforts began in the laboratory using canine and porcine models to encompass rule-base knowledge and artificial intelligence (AI). This AI reached neuro network modeling, in which everything in the cardiac ultrasound image is interrogated and evaluated in real-time, without human interference through the computer. The control model used a conductance catheter for pressure volume measurements by constructing loops to assess ventricular performance and contractility. From the animal model, this research was extended to the clinical base, particularly in the surgical critically ill and injured patients. Research in the cardiovascular secondary effects of different types of brain pathologies, including traumatic brain injury-TBI (closed and penetrating), intracranial bleed in varied areas of the brain, intracranial hypertension, and aneursym with and without vasospasm. In additional endevours, including emerging infectious diseases, especially Ebola and other Sub-tropical and tropical diseases and in relation to climate change.
