This session will review the physiologic rationale behind different treatments, including endocrine medications used in patients who meet brain death criteria in preparation for organ donation. Published data on the use of thyroid medications and corticosteroid medications and maintaining dextrose and sodium homeostasis will be reviewed. Evidence will be presented on improvement in graft survival.
