This session is targeted to multiprofessional critical care specialists who are not immunologists. Immunology has a growing role in critical care medicine but remains a niche area that few practitioners feel comfortable with because of their limited knowledge in how to clinically use information and medications in a critically ill patient. Speakers will provide a foundation of knowledge that learners can build on in other self-identified learning opportunities. The specific focus is on immunology as it relates to critical illness rather than on critically ill patients who have a preexisiting immunologic condition.
