Ivan Garcia is a respiratory care practitioner and clinical research coordinator at Columbia University Medical Center. As a full-time clinical research RT, he specializes in esophageal manometry, lung electrical impedance tomography, and quantitative ventilator waveform analysis. His research interests include ARDS, patient-ventilator dyssynchrony, and ventilator induced lung injury. Mr. Garcia serves as one of the lead coordinators nationally for the multicenter, phase III clinical trial on inhaled sedation for acute respiratory failure (INSPiRE-ICU), and was part of the phase II, I-SPY consortium and NIH-TESICO therapeutic trials for severely ill patients with COVID-19.
