Dr. October is a pediatric critical care and palliative medicine physician. Dr. October currently serves as a medical officer in the Pediatric Trauma and Critical Illness Branch of NICHD within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In this role, Dr. October manages a research portfolio and sets the priorities for pediatric critical care research. Before her transition to the NIH she held an active career as a clinical scientist. Her research focuses on transforming communication practices between clinicians and families of children with serious illness.
