Susanna Rudy is an Emergency Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She currently holds national board certifications as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Her graduate work in Forensic Science, humanitarian work with national and international NGOs has expanded her work in disaster medicine, most recently serving with an international NGO training TCCC to volunteer combat medics on the front lines in eastern Ukraine. Clinically, she has more than 30 years of nursing experience within emergency departments, critical care settings, hyperbaric medicine, disaster preparedness and forensics. She is the course developer and coordinator of the Introduction to Point of Care Ultrasound course for the Advanced Practice Provider, a core curricula 14 week course for all ENP and Post Masters Family nurse practitioner students at Vanderbilt School of Nursing. Her doctoral work focused on the development of national, post-graduate emergency care fellowships. In addition to her University faculty position, she lectures and teaches ultrasound workshops for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has served on the ultrasound committees for the AAENP and currently serves as junior faculty for the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
