Nicholas J Johnson, MD, FACEP, FCCM received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and completed residency and chief residency in emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington before joining the faculty. He is Associate Professor and Section Head of Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. He cares for patients in the emergency department, intensive care units, and extracorporeal life support service at Harborview Medical Center. Dr. Johnson’s academic interests include critical care of the cardiac arrest patient, with a focus on oxygenation, ventilation, and lung injury. Dr. Johnson receives research funding from the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department Defense, and Medic One Foundation. He also Associate Program Director of the University of Washington Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.
