It's the Wild, Wild West in Ultrasound: It's Like a Stethoscope

POCUS in critical care is an extension of the stethoscope, in that it provides additional information in context with clinical exam, other traditional findings, and presentation. Therefore, the core elements needed for a CCM POCUS exam should be simple. A POCUS program (education, administration, QA/QI, research, credentialing) should also be simple and not onerous for APP and physicians to complete. A practical approach to keeping ultrasound programs simple and easy for use is presented, including tips for documentation.
