In recent years, multiple updates have been published to guidelines on the management of serious infections often treated in the ICU. Implementation of these guidelines may be complicated by issues of cost, uncertain benefit of certain interventions in critically ill patients, and emerging new data. This session will review the current state of key guidelines for serious infections, identifying evidence gaps and barriers to implementation and ways to improve guideline adherence.
