Immunology is a growing niche inside critical care, but the average critical care specialist is not also an expert in immunology. This session is directed to a multidisciplinary critical care knowledge and is designed to provide them foundational knowledge on the basic science of immunology. Information will be focused on the most important information required to understand how immunology is being used in the critical care environment to understand critical illness pathophysiology diagnostics, and treatment. This will serve a session that will prepare the audience to understand not only basic concepts, but the information being presented in the second and third topics of the session (involving laboratory tests and medications). Dr. Laundanski is a well respected expert in this niche field.
