Prescribers often face ethical dilemmas regarding allocation of scarce medications or high-cost medications.This is especially challenging when alternatives do not exist, when clinical benefit of the medication is uncertain, or when the patient cannot afford the medication.This session is to explore factors to guide fair and equitable distribution of scarce medications (during drug shortage or times of high demand) and in the face of increasingly high-cost medications.
