Fluid management is a vital part of ICU care. Fluid removal is perhaps more important than fluid resuscitation. This session will focus on important questions surrounding fluid management, including: 1) phases of fluid management, 2) hemodynamic monitors to help determine which patients are fluid intolerant and/or ready for fluid removal, 3) mechanism and rate of fluid removal (diuretics vs. dialysis and fast or slow speed of fluid removal).
