The COVID-19 syndemic has pressure-tested the U.S. healthcare system and its critical care infrastructure. Health inequities were accentuated, which led to a strain on critical care physicians and the socially vulnerable. This session explores the social influencers of health in the framework of the quadruple/quintuple aim to advocate for transforming medicine and critical care through a lens of health equity.
