General

What are the dates and location of the 2023 Critical Care Congress?
The 2023 Critical Care Congress will take place Saturday, January 21, through Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Moscone Center South, San Francisco, California.

Pre-Congress education opportunities are available on January 19 and 20, 2023.

What is Congress Digital? 

This year, SCCM is offering Congress Digital, which will offer recorded sessions from the 2023 Critical Care Congress. Congress Digital is a great option for those who cannot attend the in-person event in San Francisco, to ensure they are still able to gain the latest knowledge and research in the field. Congress Digital will be available online for one year starting January 21, 2023. Continuing education/accredited continuing education (CE/ACE) credit will be available. Maintenance of certification (MOC) points will also be available.

Those registered for the in-person Critical Care Congress unlock FREE access to Congress Digital. They also will have to opportunity to earn CE/ACE credit as well as MOC points.

What health precautions should I expect in San Francisco?
SCCM adheres to the COVID-19 guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local governments to provide a safe and comfortable environment for attendees. More details about specific event policies will be released closer to the event.

Is continuing education credit offered?
Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and dieticians have the opportunity to earn continuing education/accredited continuing education credit. Maintenance of certification points are also available. More details will be available soon.

How can I become an exhibitor?
SCCM has many different exhibitor, sponsorship, and advertising opportunities at the 2023 Critical Care Congress. Information is coming soon.

What registration options are available?
The 2023 Critical Care Congress is an in-person event, and SCCM looks forward to gathering together again.

Congress Digital is available for those who cannot join SCCM in San Francisco.

Discounted pricing is available for SCCM members for the live event and for Congress Digital.

When are the different registration deadlines? 
To receive the early rate for the in-person event, register by November 16, 2023. To receive the advance rate, register by December 14, 2023. Please visit the registration page for details.

I registered but have not received a confirmation. How can I get another one sent to me?
Please contact SCCM Customer Service at support@sccm.org or +1 847 827-6888.

What is included in the cost of my registration?
You will receive a name badge and program when you arrive on site. Your name badge gives you access to the plenary, thought leader, and concurrent sessions; Exhibit Hall; Research Snapshot Theaters; Critical Crosstalk Theater; Critical Care Quiz Show; Star Research Presentations; Research Awards Ceremony; Tweet Up; Roundtable Discussions; the Convocation and Awards Ceremony; and Industry Insights and other industry-sponsored education.

Registration for the in-person event also includes access to Congress Digital for one year, starting January 21, 2023.

Are meals included with my registration?
Meals are NOT provided during the conference. There will be light snacks and coffee offered before the opening session, and Exhibit Hall breaks may offer coffee. Some SCCM sections, chapters, and sponsored groups will host receptions that may have food and beverages available, but this is not guaranteed.

Can I cancel my registration?
To cancel your registration, contact SCCM Customer Service at support@sccm.org or +1 847 827-6888.

What is the Congress cancellation/refund policy?
Cancellations for the in-person 2023 Critical Care Congress must be submitted in writing and are subject to a $100 nonrefundable processing fee. Cancellations for the in-person event must be postmarked before January 4, 2023. Cancellations postmarked after this date will not be refunded. Please allow four weeks to process refunds.

Course dates are subject to change and/or cancellation. In the event of cancellation of the in-person event, SCCM will still provide Congress Digital. SCCM will refund the difference in costs for those registered for the in-person event.

SCCM shall not be liable for any costs, expenses, or fees related to your cancellation of travel and attendance associated with the event. This includes but is not limited to cancellation of airline tickets, car rental reservations, and hotel reservations. Booking, purchasing, or securing travel arrangements is at the risk of the registrant.

When will I receive my refund? 
Please allow four weeks to process refunds.

How can I buy tickets for special events?
When you complete your Congress registration, you have the option to purchase tickets for special events during Congress.

If you are already registered for Congress and would like to add a ticketed session, please modify your existing Congress registration. To modify your registration, log in to your account in the SCCM store. Once logged in, select "All Events." Select the "Details" button from the Congress line item. Once on the Congress event page, select "Edit Registration." Select the events you would like to attend and then select "Add to Cart." Follow the prompts to complete your transaction.

Can I purchase tickets for special events when I arrive at Congress?
A limited number of tickets for special events may be available at the registration desk; however, SCCM cannot guarantee the availability of tickets on site.

How can I attend a pre-Congress educational opportunity?
You can register for pre-Congress educational opportunities when you complete your Congress registration. Each course has a registration fee.

I registered, but I'd like to add additional ticketed events to my registration. How can I do that?
If you are already registered for Congress and would like to add a ticketed session, please modify your existing Congress registration. Once on the Congress event page, select "Edit Registration." Select the events you would like to attend and then select "Add to Cart." Follow the prompts to complete your transaction.

Does my Congress registration include admittance to Friday or Saturday pre-Congress educational opportunities?
No. There is an additional fee for all Friday and Saturday pre-Congress educational opportunities. Learn more here. These courses are a great way to personalize and focus your time with peers who share your interests.

Can I attend a pre-Congress educational opportunity only and not the entire Congress?
Yes, you can attend a pre-Congress educational opportunity and not attend Congress. You can register here.

Can I bring a spouse or other guest to Congress?
Guests are allowed in certain settings. Guests are not allowed in educational sessions. Guests can visit the Exhibit Hall; if guests are under the age of 16, they must be accompanied by an adult. Guests are welcome at receptions and non-educational sessions. Members can purchase tickets for guests to accompany them on a Member tour.

Hotel, Travel, and Sightseeing

Does SCCM have hotel rooms available for Congress attendees?
Yes. SCCM reserves blocks of rooms for attendees each year. You can learn more about how to reserve a room here. The deadline to make reservations at the guaranteed group rate is January 6, 2023.

What is the headquarters hotel?

Do I have to be registered for Congress before I can book my hotel in the block?
No. Hotels can be booked at the discounted Congress rate before you register. SCCM encourages booking as early as possible to ensure you reserve a room at your preferred hotel.
